The Dragino Lora/GPS HAT is an extension module for LoRaWan and GPS applications with the Raspberry Pi. This product is intended for those who are interested in developing LoRaWAN solutions.




The Lora/GPS HAT is based on the SX1276/SX1278 transceiver. The L80 GPS add-on (based on MTK MT3339) is designed for applications that use a GPS connected to the Raspberry Pi via serial interfaces, such as timing applications or general applications that require GPS information.


The transceivers of the Lora/GPS HAT feature the LoRa™ long-range modem, which enables spread spectrum communication with extremely long range and high interference immunity with minimum power consumption. LoRa™ also offers significant advantages in terms of blocking and selectivity over traditional modulation techniques, resolving the traditional compromise between range, immunity and power consumption.




This board can automatically calculate and predict trajectories using ephemeris data (up to 3 days) stored in the internal flash memory, allowing the HAT to quickly determine position even at low power indoor signal levels. Using AlwaysLocate™ technology, the Lora/GPS HAT can adaptively adjust the on/off time to achieve a balance between positioning accuracy and power consumption according to ambient and motion conditions. The GPS also supports automatic antenna switching. It can switch between internal patch antenna and external active antenna and maintains positioning during switching.
