3D printers have various fans to cool their different parts. Usually, there is one above the heat block to ensure that the filament melts only in the heat block and part of the heatbreak, and not above it. There is also a fan (often a radial fan) aimed at the nozzle to ensure that the filament cools as quickly as possible after extrusion and stays in place.
Finally, there are often fans in the enclosure to keep the electronics and power supply cool.
