Thermocouple amplifier MAX31855 breakout board SPI v2.0
Product information:
Breakout board using the MAX31855 amplifier chip to facilitate reading of type K thermocouples.
Thermocouples are very sensitive and therefore need a good amplifier. The MAX31855K does everything for you and can easily be interfaced with any microcontroller, even if it doesn't have analog input. This breakout board contains the chip itself, a 3.3V voltage regulator with 10uF bypass capacitors and a level shifting circuit. The boards are fully tested by Adafruit. Supplied with a 2 pin terminal block (for connecting the thermocouple) and a pin header to plug into a breadboard or perfboard.
Adafruit also has an Arduino library for this breakout board.
- Works with any K-type thermocouple.
- Does not work with other types of thermocouples.
- Range -200°C to 1350°C in 0.25°C increments (note that K thermocouples have an accuracy of ~2 to ~6°C)
- Internal temperature readout
- 3.3V to 5V supply voltage and logic level compliant
- SPI data output with 3 digital I/O pins
