DIY LED Disco Glasses Kit Green
Product information:
Assemble these LED disco glasses yourself by soldering all the components in the right place.
5 LEDs in a row form an 'arrow' that lights up from the center outwards.
Fun to make yourself and wear to a party.
Circuit description:
The KA2284 is a 5-point LED level indicator IC designed for audio level visualization. It can control up to five LEDs, turning them on or off according to the input signal level. This allows it to display the output level of an audio amplifier or ambient sound intensity — the louder the sound, the more LEDs light up; the quieter the sound, the fewer LEDs are illuminated.
This circuit consists of two main sections:
Audio Amplifier Circuit
Level Indicator Circuit
A microphone captures the ambient sound and sends the signal to the transistor amplifier (Q1) through capacitor C3. The amplified signal is then sent to the input pin (pin 8) of the KA2284. The KA2284 controls five LED groups that display the sound level.
The circuit operates on a 12V power supply. Resistors R1–R5 serve as current-limiting resistors for the LEDs, with each group consisting of five LEDs connected in series.
The left and right sides of the LED array are mirror images of each other, forming two identical sound level indicators.
Sound sensitivity can be fine-tuned using RP1.
LED color: green
