With this shield you can control servos, stepper motors and DC motors with your Arduino.
You can connect the following to the shield:
- 2x 5V hobby servos. This is linked to the high resolution timer of the Arduino so you have no jitter.
- Up to 4 bi-directional DC motors with 8 bit speed setting.
- Up to 2 stepper motors (unipolar or bipolar)

The shield has:
- 4H bridges: the L293D chipsets gives 0.6A per bridge (1.2A peak) with thermal protection. Voltage 4.5 to 25 Volts.
- Pull down resistors to turn off the motors during start-up.
- Easy screw terminal connections for connecting motors and power supply.
- Arduino reset button.
- 2 Pin screw terminal connector for external power supply.
- Suitable for Mega, Uno, Diecimila and Duemilanove.

The shield is compatible with the Adafruit AFmotor motor library. You can download the correct version for version 1 of the motor shield under 'documentation'.
