This module with the TCRT5000L infrared sensor can be used to make a robot follow a line.
The module has a digital and an analog output. The analog output gives the amount of reflected infrared light (which it also transmits). The digital output gives a high or low signal depending on the amount of reflection. The sensitivity is adjustable with adjustable resistance on the module.
